Dr. Brittany Clayborne is credited as having the mind of a doctor and the heart of a patient.
A New Orleans native, Brittany attended Navarro College from 2003 - 2005 and served as drum line leader, a board member of Navarro College SGA, and Vice President of the State Texas Jr. College Association.
At 30, she earned her master’s degree during a 9-month hospital stay as she waited to receive a heart transplant. One year later, she earned her Doctorate of Psychology while undergoing aggressive cancer treatments for stage four cancer.
Dr. Brittany Clayborne is the winner of the 2023 UNOS Community Advocate Award, the 2025 STA Outlive Yourself Award, an International Bestselling Author, creator of the medically driven THRIVE Therapy©, governing board member for the Association of Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation, and the National OPTN Board of Directors, and serves on several committees that impact the patient experience of humanity worldwide. The most important role she plays is that of mom to 14-year-old, Micah, who is also a heart transplant recipient. Together, they support the emotional and psychological health of kids and adults through their non-profits, Brittany Speaks and Transplant Teenz.
